Today’s creation processes are no longer the expression of an individual facing potential buyers. Mass production is not only impersonal, it’s environmentally irresponsible.

The Rapid Manufacturing technologies (please visit our tech section for more information) allow a one-for-one approach to design: an object conceived with both a pre-assigned use and user. Our goal is to involve everyone in the act of creation, to personalize the act of creation.

SELF Studio provides an environment where designers and buyers alike can create, expose, exchange, and purchase beautiful objects. We offer spaces that can become showrooms, showcases, community gathering points. Everyone that is in contact with the final product should have a say; we believe an object should reflect the people who conceive of it, design it, fabricate it, buy it, use it, live with it. We want to provide a space for anyone – everyone – to design a thumb-printed object.
